Kjaer Weis Eyeshadow in Magnetic

One brand that I really love to follow is Kjaer Weis. It recently released a mascara that claims to enhance your natural eyelashes beautifully. I adore Kjaer Weis for its most natural semi-matte finish of their lip tints, universally flattering colours of their eyeshadows and their creme-de-la-creme cheek blushes.

Right now, my eyes are glued to their eyeshadow in the shade Magnetic. It is described as a luminous cocoa mink and I think the description cannot get any closer. The eyeshadow is contained in such a lavish heavy metal packaging and the pearly reflecting quality of the eyeshadow itself is very pretty in a fairly modest way (Sorry, my camera cannot quite capture the luminosity of this). The cocoa mink makes a nice base colour to hints of small gold particles that will flatter your eyes but want to still look natural. Read more below.

RMS Beauty "Un" Powder

Often times with natural beauty products, you will find a lot of dewiness coming out from them. Oils are good, they are our friends- the good type kind of oils that is. But for someone like me, whose face can over-produce oil during the summer time, or when all I want is a matte face to go with my make up look.... I would give a toss to RMS Beauty "un" powder that will effectively get rid of that excess shine away!

RMS Beauty "un" powder is a unique one-ingredient formula. It contains the purest silica which has been cut spherically to prevent irritation from the naturally silica crystalline structure. This makes the powder just so.. damn.. fine. It is as soft as silk and does not leave any white residue behind so it's great for all skin colour! If you dislike the overly matte face, this leaves a nice fresh matte finish and not made-up. The staying power is quite amazing, this always lasts me the whole day without a single touch-up, so I urge even the oiliest skin types to give it a go. Read below for more.

John Masters Volumizing Treatment

I think it's safe to say that I am deeply in love with this product. I didn't expect a miracle to work on my fine limp & straight hair, but this has really done something. Having gone through almost half of it, I only noticed the difference about 2 weeks ago when my hair started to feel and appear fuller (say what?!). It is such a lightweight product that I was pretty meh about it working. I know there are many amazing DIY recipes for maintaining hair, but this comes in a water spray bottle which is just so convenient and a time-saver. The ingredients are very lengthy filled with plant-based ingredients and a few of unheard Chinese herbals.

I spray this about 5 times at different parts of my hair, when it's still wet, and then massage the scalp. It smells very strongly like Lavender for me even though it contains many other notes that I'm supposed to take. It basically just feels like herbal/floral water.

It took time for me to see the difference, so I urge you to be patient. This, as a treatment product, works amazingly to create volume and healthy shine. I also do notice less hairfall, but it's not a substantial amount. What I love the most about it is that, it is a leave-in treatment product that is super lightweight on the roots and so won't make your hair oily at all.

My food & tea staples!

random intriguing plant-fence pictures otw to Bunnings!
Heavenly hot chocolate in this rad installation-art cafe

1. Lotus Organic: Traditional Rolled Oats. I am obsessed with having oats for breakfast!! But who has never gone through that phase?! I turn it into a porridge with almond milk and then sprinkle some superfood stuff from Loving Earth and top it off with sliced fruits. Highly nutritious and yet delicious. Sometimes, I also steal some fancy breakfast cafe recipes, amp it up with coconut milk and cut up some mangos and my choice of roasted nuts. I pretty much can go gaga with oats.. Rolled oats are high in fibre, B-Vitamins, Beta-glutan and phytochemicals. So fulfilling!

2. Food for Health: Fruit Free Clusters. Oooooh, this is the shiz that I just recently discovered from IGA supermarket. It tastes so freaking amazing! The cinnamon is not too strong that it will make you sick. The woman behind this brand is a naturopath and she definitely did not sacrifice taste just for health. It's basically like muesli, and a good alternative to my 'typical' cereal. Totally gluten free, dairy free, peanut free, high in fibre, source of omega and all that stuff. Here are the listed ingredients "buckwheat, puffed rice, sunflower seeds, organic raw sugar, rice bran syrup, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans, pumpkin seeds, puffed millet, psyllium husks, chia seed, flaxseed, canola oil, natural flavour, cinnamon. all the ingredients are GMO free. May contain trace of tree nuts, not peanuts".

3. Oxfam: Orange / Mango Black Tea. This is my all-time favourite 'dessert' tea that I need to restock. It was quite affordable at $3.95 filled with 25 bags. For something that is organic and fairtrade, this tea is such a steal and it tastes light and refreshing. I don't usually like orange flavoured tea or any fruity tea.. but this one has the right balance of sweetness and tanginess, a perfect finishing touch after a big meal. I don't think I can go a day without drinking this in the afternoon.

4. Ambrosia: Raw Organic Honey. It is fairly difficult to get a nice raw organic honey. I have got my eyes on the Manuka one that SBL stocks but it's not permitted to get it shipped to Australia. Anyway, this one is nice though. I mainly use honey as a sweetener especially in my hot chocolate or chai latte. In comparison to just the normal honey in the supermarkets, I really like the 'fudgy' slightly thicker texture of this. Dipping my finger and licking it is a blessing, so yummy!

5. INDAH: Organic & Handpressed Extra Virgin Coconut oil. It might not be the silkiest or buttery coconut oil I have tried but what I am pleasantly surprised about this coconut oil is the taste. It is very coconutty, so if you dislike coconut you won't like this and would prefer the mild-tasting ones intead.. but to be honest, this is the only coconut oil that I can consume just like that. It's crazy delicious and it's handpressed in Bali! I consume Indah internally and use my coconut butter Loving Earth (that is more affordable) for my skin, body and hair care routine.

6. HUSK: Harmony Tea. I don't remember how much I bought this for, but it was between 6-9$ at David Jones. The one pictured is a 'gift' size which is still the same grams as the normal tea leaves boxes but wrapped up in a gorgeous envelope. The moment that I read the ingredient list, I knew I would love it. It's an infusion of a certified organic cinnamon, cloves, lychee berries, cardamom, ginger, lemon balm and lilac marshmallow flowers. It's got the right balance of spiciness and fruitiness, so if you're a fan of anything spicy like chai latte ;) get this. I am definitely recommending this as a tea 'splurge' for yourself or as gifts.

Last but not least, my new mortar & pestles! I haven't used it yet, I am going to feel sad grinding stuff with this because it is just too pretty!!!

What are your 'snack' staples in your kitchen cupboard?! Would love to get some ideas. :)

Dress Me Up in The Good Stuff

I am a huge huge fan of body oils. In fact, I have a long list of body oils from many many amazing brands dominating my wishlist right now. I rarely use perfumes, so opting for scented body oils always leave a nice subtle lingering scent on the skin. The thing is, body oils can definitely get very pricy in comparison to body creams/lotions. So, I always reserve it for special occasions or whenever I'm feeling down. Funny enough, scented body oils never fail to boost up my energy and confidence when I know I smell really good all over my body!!

UNE Lip Toned Colour & Breezy Cheeks Blush

Lip Toned Colour in L05 $10

UNE lip toned colour is a shade range inspired by the natural colours of the lips. That's why you won't see any dark or bright dramatic colours in this line or the whole brand really. However, the range will instantly be your selection of go-to lip colours when all you want is just a little bit of enhancement, especially to cover lip discolouration. The one I got is in L05, which is a pinky peach colour so pretty. The staying power isn't amazing, but the coverage really satisfies, very rich pigmentation. I find the consistency and texture also to be almost similar to Vapour's Siren lipsticks but is just slightly less moisturising. I think that Vapour hits the 'high-end' bar with its stellar ingredients (and mostly organic too) whilst UNE is the more affordable line targeted at the drugstore consumers who want to see natural & organic make up. Body Lush: Sodashi & Aurora Spa Rituals - Australian Spa Products

In terms of body care, I only care so much about smelling good and moisturise with whatever I have on hand. Generally, I dry-brush myself, cleanse, scrub (1x a week) and then moisturise. Pretty basic. But it wasn't like I wanted to see any improvement. I just love having rituals.

So, I have never felt so indulgent until I randomly bought this 'resurfacing skin cream' from Mecca Cosmetica that I first thought, whoa what did I just buy this for. But as soon as I tried it, I knew it was a keeper. Those rough patches and odd bumps I have on my arms are gone?! Just btw, I have tried tonnes of scrubs and never I would be willing to repurchase any of them.

Dr. Hauschka Limited Edition Trio Eyeshadow Palette Spring 2013

I was very drawn to the rose-gold packaging that is just pure luxurious to look at. It is not made out of a heavy metal packaging like Kjaer Weis, but it does have that nice reflective property that makes it look magnificent. When I received this, I was actually more than impressed with the luxury feel I get from this product. It's not just about the packaging. The formula and the scent are so extravagantly beautiful. I hurried myself to rip the plastic cover and as soon as I opened it.. have you seen the movie cover of American Beauty? That's exactly how I felt - like laying on a bed of roses. This rose-scented eyeshadow really hits your smelling sensory in a delicate way. Read more below.

Absolution Skincare Deep Cleansing Facial Mask

Absolution is a French brand that many natural Australian retailers seem to stock. I got a few samples of this Deep Cleansing Facial mask and I really thought I wasn't going to like it. Frankly, any facial product that is scented or contain peppermint in it, it would likely to nauseate me. That's why, to my surprise I actually found this mask to be so gentle, refreshing and purifying all at once!

an example of Birch Sap extraction in Russia.

The key ingredients in the Deep Cleansing mask are Birch Sap which is rich in tannins to purify and soothe skin irritations. I really did not know that you could use the substance inside tree barks as a cool skin care ingredient! The second main ingredient is White Clay. It comes as an obvious statement that white clay is very responsible to suck all the gunk out effectively, but it is still one of the most gentle clays there is. My skin is not oily at all so this white clay works just right for me. Then, Green Mate with Chlorophyll, vitamins (A,C,B1,B2 and K) and minerals to revitalise the skin and awaken the radiance of the complexion. And don't forget, this mask owes its huge thanks to the purifying salicin, brightening licorice, regulator minerals such as zinc and copper, burdock as well as peppermint, red tangerine, myrtle and basilica essential oils! Wow, it's power-packed!

The peppermint really makes a huge effect on my skin; it feels so tingly, minty and soothing in a very therapeutic way. I had tried 4 testers of this mask and I love using it whenever I get break outs but when my skin cannot handle the stimulation from MLS products. As you can see, I had a medium sized zit on my forehead and putting this mask on really helped to get the whitehead out and the day after, it's totally gone. Coincidence or not, I believe this mask really works! Although, don't get me wrong, (click below to read more)

1. Tell us about your favourite jeans

I honestly don't like wearing jeans just because I am very picky when it comes to garments that must feel comfortable. Yes, some jeans from GAP, Acne and Nobody Jeans for example.. are absolutely soft, light and nicely tailored but waiting for them to go on sale is like waiting for rain to fall in Qatar. So, I was on a hunt for boyfriend jeans since forever, but for some reason it is hard to find one that is not heavily distressed and show 'skin'. I just wanted to be able to wear it 24/7 no matter the weather! Luckily, this gem I found sitting in the corner under a pile of other clothes and junks in my local thrift shop. For 5$!!!

PS: I don't know about you but I am in love with oversized sweaters. This sweater, I stole, from my dad which he bought in Carrefour. Yes, Carrefour. This one is unbelievably warm and snuggly.

2. What is your most-worn lip colour?

So far it has been the lip shine in "Moment" by RMS Beauty. I recently bought another colour called Sublime which I have a feeling I won't get bored of. They are not very hydrating but they are a dream to touch and use. I tend to not like lip glosses so my best alternatives to those are these lip shines. They make my lips look healthy and plump, plus, you can never go wrong with any of the colours- that sublime colour is a babe btw.

3. Who are the youtubers whose videos you learn the most from?

I don't necessarily 'learn' a lot from youtube videos, but I do get inspired by them a lot! (and lush over more products too unfortunately)

In terms of beauty, I get giddy watching Essie Button - love her welcoming home setting and her thrift-shopping finds plus her make up always looks good, Breanne Bergs - make up falls so natural on her, unfortunately she has stopped making videos, Check In The Mirror - her enthusiasm and passion kill me and I always feel like I am getting pampered from her videos!, A Model Recommends - She has nice tips and tricks and I especially love her eye make-up looks and her skin care product updates! and last but not least, Goss Make-Up Artist and Daily Mix for in-depth make overs tips and tricks.

Fashion wise, I gotta love Clothes Encounters - cool galll from calii who sounds fun to talk to and her choice of clothes I really like, Essie Button - love that she loves sequins 'why be subtle', and Fashion Rocks My Socks - she is as cute as a button and I can relate to her sense of style.

Health wise, I like Health Talks TV, I Luv Jesse - her infos about natural products and such are easy to digest, and The Beauty Plan. Food videos from random youtubers, I also like! I watch Cooking With A Dog religiously though, just because.

Some topics from THNKR TV can intrigue me sometimes. I enjoy watching people documenting their adventures, I love giggling at dog or cat videos, and most importantly I also love to get on to my guitar or piano after getting inspired from Zachyg whom I follow after watching their Marvin's Room by Drake cover.  They jam like there's no tomorrow. Youtube has just been the best medium to discover amazing tunes (thank goodness for infiniteloop too).

Wow I have been off the topic.

4. How do you store your makeup?

In these acrylic 3 drawers storages from Amazon.

5. How often, and how, do you wash your make up brushes?

Once a week (or less) because I don't have and use lots of brushes anyway. I wash them with Dr. Bronner's castile soap. Very effective.

6. What's your favourite red, nude and baby pink nail colour?

I don't have much interest in wearing nail polishes but I have a few. I love sparkles and glitters and also metallic silver. If 'solid' colours, I like peaches and pastels. The best nail polish brand I have used so far is Seshwai. I had a phase where I only wanted to wear a transparent nail polish with colourful glitters on it, that's about it.

7. Do you make any beauty treatments at home?

Home made beauty treatments never work for me (and not that convenient too), except for body scrubs and lip scrubs.

8. What is your most-made meal at home?

Honestly, pasta. Because it is so easy and fast to make.

9. Best Multi-purpose products?

RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek for blushes and lips. Lots of pigment so you only need a little bit. Non drying and non sticky.

Coconut oil for inside and out too.

10. Tell us about the bag you carry most often.

Initially, it's gotta be my feather Baggu canvas backpack but it broke so currently I have been using this jeans bag from Urban Outfitters. Not my favourite but it's okay and it was on sale. I have been wanting this one from Jansport Heritage SO SO bad though. Would be perfect, please and thank you.
