Thursday Wishlist - Careful What You Wish For

I haven't done a wishlist in a long time, I think in fact this is only my second one. I am at the worst place to compile one actually because I am so full of life today people, seriously (I'm kidding I don't deserve these). Why does Thursday feel like Friday?! Anyway, there are some new great products coming out from my favorite brands. If you're on twitter you probably know what's in the buzz nowadays ;).

1. La Bella Figura Modern Radiance Concentrate

Oh what in the world! I need this stuff. For a lackluster skin that begs for radiance, a more even skin tone and a more refined skin tone or if you want to fade your discoloration, hold.off.your.other.purchase that claims the same! Why? Because La Bella Figura is releasing its newest product this August, so that's very soon. I am real eager to try this because I have heard great stuff about Kakadu Plum (the star ingredient), a native fruit to Australia. It is the richest and most complete source of Vitamin C and contains a number of other benefits such as anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-viral that comes from its Gallic Acid. What's more impressive is that I love the gel-cream texture of this concentrate. By the look of it, it's going to feel very dreamy to put on thanks to the blend of Cupuacu butter.

2. Studio 78 Liquid Lipstick in Rose Wedding

I love it when natural, green beauty products come out with something 'new'. Well, 'new' because this kind of liquid lipstick has been around in conventional products. I mean, what can't chemicals do? I have already loved the formulation and applicator of Ellis Faas Creamy Lips, but unfortunately not a fan of her ingredients. This Studio 78 Liquid Lipstick is hopefully going to be a healthy substitution for that. It claims to have a creamy consistency and deliver a velvety lacquer for an intense and long-lasting result. The ingredients sound good enough to eat too, I can imagine a citrus-y scent and taste from this lipstick. Rose Wedding is the most desirable color for me. That mauvy-rose colour is just too gorgeous, reminds me of RMS in Illusive that I LOVE. But let's not forget... Ruby, Coral and Velvet Wedding anyone?

3. Konjac Sponge for Very Sensitive Skin

I love that there's a sponge for every skin type from normal, dry, combination, sensitive, acne-prone. I decided that I would be really interested in getting the pink one for hyper-sensitive and over-exposed skin. It contains a blend of Red and White French Clay that will improve blood circulation to help the skin get back that healthy radiance it needs to be looking. Now, my skin is not exactly THAT sensitive but I do feel that my skin sometimes asks for a break. I am a skin-care junkie after-all. May Lindstrom used to advise me to let my skin be in the process of healing itself, so not using a cleanser at all but just water is good. The thing is, I need to absolutely be patient to cleanse my face with just water until it's clean. So, won't this sponge be that perfect companion :)

4. May Lindstrom SKIN Treatment Brush

I have to snap myself out of it whenever I look at this brush. Sounds dramatic I know but it's just too damn handsome. Crafted with vegan-friendly Taklon fibres, recycled aluminium ferrule and a natural wood handle, it is going to be a perfect addition to my masking ritual. Sometimes, it's just easier with a brush.

Pssst.. May Lindstrom has been developing new awesome products. The best way to get a sneak peek is to follow her on Instagram.

5. Shea Terra Gingered Pumpkin Whipped Shea Butter

You know how I feel about smelling like dessert or cookies. I have never tried Shea Terra products mainly because the shipping can get really expensive when all I want is just a couple of things. The good thing is, Shea Terra is generous, they go on sale often so I'm waiting around for that so I can finally get to try this awesome smelling Gingered Pumpkin sweet! Main ingredients are Shea Butter and Pumpkin Seed oil. I have high expectation for this to heal my dry body skin.

6. YULI Pure Mask

A short and sweet brand and product name. I love masks and this one is apparently only leaving your skin being transcended into a fresh, brand-new skin. I LOVE the sound of the ingredients in this. Pricy for a little thing, but worth-a-try. All the ingredients are there for a reason, they are all key actives to detoxify, neutralize, nourishes, soothes, gently exfoliate while injecting some powerful anti-oxidants from Green Tea and Rice Powder. I am also excited about Mung Beans and Cucumber in this mask.

Now, that's what I call a great long wish-list. What's yours?

An Etsy Find: Vice & Velvet, Read Me A Lovely Poet of Fragrance

Going to Sunday Market is one of my favorite things to do but sometimes, I have to admit.. it takes a bit of an effort to wake up early. Thankfully, there's Etsy right? I love finding out what's happening locally and after spending hours looking through each one of them, my eyes laid on Vice & Velvet. The name and representation caught my eye and my brain automatically flickers through cupcakes images and all the sweet things. Definitely spot-on with the name.

So what is special about this brand? The scents oh the scents. I am absolutely picky about scents, I love scents that I can possibly eat-it-up, like dessert. Or yummy drink. She concocts such unique scents and put them into a range of square and jewel soap, body polish and cream, and also bathing whip. I ended up getting Quiet Time (Limited Edition) and Blushing Phoenix. Quiet Time is described as "a bowlful of vanilla marshmallows, a steaming rose petal bath and the hypnotic flickr of sandalwood candle" while Blushing Phoenix is "an exquisite blend of lychee syrup, sweetened oolong tea and palmrosa syrup, emboldened with a drop of aged vetiver". Now you get me when I said it's irresistible right? The scent itself is like a poetry that either sweetens or darkens as you go. Read more below.

Vered - Balancing Facial Oil To Scare The Blemishes Away

My current skin companion at night to control acne in this hot and humid summer weather. Bright, uplifting, and warm. Who says oily skin can’t get a healthy dewy glow? This one by Vered is luxuriously enchanting, sinks in easily and softening to the skin. Oh the wonders of healing plant oils such as Jojoba that is similar to our own skin’s sebum thus highly balancing, Sweet Almond oil that gives your facial skin silky soft feeling, and also Rosehip to regenerate your skin, excellent for scarring left by your acne. The ingredient list obviously doesn't stop there. Vered, the woman behind the brand is an esthetician and is also an expert in herbalism. It's no wonder that they call her hands 'Healing Hands', tell me who is not persuaded enough to try out her products because my skin sure does need some of her magic touch. The oils of Jojoba, Sweet Almond and Rosehip make a wonderful base to a number of essential oils and herbs that Vered had skilfully combined. My favorite are definitely Lemongrass, Myrrh, Calendula herbs and Chamomile essential oil. Lemongrass and Myrrh are both excellent to heal and prevent acne while Calendula and Chamomile are really good at calming the skin. You also might not have heard Chickweed, Echinecia, Plantain Leaf, and Speedwell being used in a facial product often. I really like the unique combination of essential oils and herbals here as they are apparent to tone down my congestion.

Although this oil is specifically made for problematic skin and even oily skin, I do find that it is hydrating enough for normal to dry skin gal like me. If you still crave for hydration, maybe 3 drops is enough for you or layer it with a facial cream of your choice. I personally only need 1 -2 drops depending on how my skin feels. Because I am in a tropical country, I only reserve my facial oil at night. I use my Vered Balancing Oil almost daily, other days I would use my Audra James facial oil that is super soothing. Whilst this might be your best bet of a moisturizer if you have problematic skin, I personally cannot rely on it alone to control my acne. Also, worth mentioning that I am unfortunately unable to use this oil on my neck as my neck skin seems reactive to it.

Tips for the summer: I definitely still get odd bumps here and there. So, to really suck those gunk and dirt out of your pores, my favorite is to apply an intense-treatment mask by May Lindstrom Skin or Absolution. And seriously, I am in need of my Clean Dirt to brighten up my complexion! Admit it, we all need a time-out once in awhile.

What is your summer-skin savior?

Summer Holiday Lippies!

Burt's Bees in Ruby Moon, RMS Beauty in Sacred, Ilia Beauty in Blossom Lady and RMS Beauty in Modest as Blush

There is no reason not to embrace fun summer colors even in the midst of grey winter. Lucky me, I am in a tropical country which gives me all the right reasons to wear my top picks for the 'summer'! Although I don't usually choose colors in accordance to the seasons, I think it's just a reflex to choose something uplifting and bright.

As you can see, I am definitely leaning more towards the pink and pinkish red. Something sheer but not too sheer that can be dressed up or down, for day or night. Modest is the only colour that is slightly coral-ly and I love it as a blush. But now that I'm slightly tanner, the colour looks so right on my lips too! Anyway, lets jump on below for swatches and descriptions!
